For the 13th year, Stanford Health Care has been named to the Digital Health Most Wired List, a top honor in digital health care leadership.

“Receiving the Most Wired award is a tremendous honor,” said Michael Pfeffer, MD, chief information officer for Stanford Health Care and the Stanford School of Medicine. “At Stanford Health Care, we’re continuously using technology solutions to drive our organization’s patient care, research and education missions forward. This recognition is possible only because of the incredible information technology professionals working in strong partnership with our patient care and operations teams.”

The Digital Health Most Wired Program, run by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, or CHIME, scores health care organizations based on their responses to surveys about the technology they use, how pervasive its use is throughout the organization and how inventive the technology is. For 2022, Stanford Health Care earned a 9 for both acute and ambulatory care.

Health care organizations rated 9 or 10 by the program have adopted innovative technologies throughout their enterprises. These technologies — such as telehealth, price-transparency and cost-analysis tools, point-of-care data, and patient-facing systems — improve care quality and patient experience, reduce costs and open avenues to care. This year’s ratings were based on survey results that analyzed nearly 39,000 health care facilities.

The CHIME survey and ratings are considered a digital checkup for health care organizations around the world. They help providers assess their own digital health as electronic communication becomes increasingly vital in patient care.

“We are proud to honor the Stanford Health Care team’s exceptional dedication to excellence in digital health,” said Russell Branzell, CHIME’s president and CEO. “Stanford Health Care’s pioneering performance in the industry inspires other organizations by example. Patients in communities around the world receive better care when you drive change through digital transformation, as Stanford Health Care has proven through its success in this rigorous program.”
