Stanford Medical Youth Science Program

The Stanford Medical Youth Science Program is a five-week immersive enrichment program focused on science and medicine that is open to low-income, first-generation high school juniors who live in Northern California.

  • The Summer 2024 application will open in December. More information will be released in early winter.

Explore the Exciting World of Science and Medicine

When students attend the Stanford Medical Youth Science Program, not only do they learn and develop as a student, but they are mentored and empowered to begin their path to college and medical careers. We build a cohort of passionate, like-minded peers, who will become the next generation of health leaders.

Intensive Science

Our program exposes current juniors from low-income and/or underrepresented backgrounds to health science and medicine.

Tuition-Free

SMYSP is a tuition-free program. We rely on donations to increase opportunity and access for aspiring first generation college students from underrepresented backgrounds.

Local Outreach

In 2024, we will invite 24 students from Northern California to participate in an immersive, on campus program.

Mentors

Participants are mentored throughout the five-week program by medical professionals, faculty, and college students with a passion for science.
