The Division of Comprehensive Neurology in the Department of Neurology at Stanford University seeks a board-eligible or board-certified Comprehensive (General) Neurologist to join the Department as Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator Line.

The major criterion for appointment as a Clinician Educator is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant should have an MD or equivalent degree, ABPN certification or eligibility, and eligibility for a California medical license, as well as an interest and expertise in management of a wide variety of neurologic conditions in the outpatient setting and a demonstrated commitment to teaching students, residents and fellows. Candidates must also have excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with other departments and disciplines.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have fellowship training in a Neurology subspecialty. Any subspecialty interest will be considered, though the candidate’s role will focus on comprehensive care of patients across the entire spectrum of neurologic disorders.

Responsibilities include care of general and subspecialty neurology patients, and teaching of medical students, residents and clinical fellows. The physician will see patients primarily in our hospital and clinics at Stanford Health Care Emeryville in Emeryville, California, as well as in our Comprehensive Neurology clinics at the main Stanford clinic site in Palo Alto. Specific breakdown of time at each clinical site is negotiable.

While the primary focus will be on clinical duties at SHC-TriValley, opportunities for involvement at other clinical locations, including Emeryville and Palo Alto, can be explored depending on the candidate’s interests and clinical needs at these sites. Opportunities are also available to participate in research, quality improvement, and development of innovative care programs.
